My role within the company is excitingly varied! Any given day will have me supporting clients with large tenders for projects that are not due to happen for a few years time (but where planning now is crucial), alongside short coaster moves that are happening in the same week where we have priced the job and submitted our tender. In general, I am involved in a project from the initial get-go at ITT/enquiry receipt stage, through to the point where the project is handed over to our technical execution team.
The buzz from contract negotiations and securing new work for the business is exhilarating, as is the opportunity to work in partnership with the client project teams to deliver safe and successful projects. The buzz from securing new work, I can liken to the rush I experience when playing football, like Sergio Ramos with a clearing header at the heart of defence ….
A large part of my job is working in partnership with client stakeholders, understanding a particular scope and any pinch points that the client may have; I then collaborate with colleagues across the Malin Group, to present a technically and commercially sound solution to the client. It is rewarding working with the engineers to come up with a solution, which I then have the privilege to discuss with our clients, enabling me to be fully involved in the process.
My role is both exciting and challenging, with no two days the same… which is what keeps it interesting. Every ITT presents new and varying client requirements , enabling us to continually innovate, think outside the box and present new commercially and technically sound solutions.
