Vessel chartering

Chartering a vessel is the process by which a ship owner leases their vessel. Although this does not sound a complicated process there are many legalities which back it up – vessel owners, understandably, like to ensure that their assets are looked after and limit their own liability as much as possible.

A number of issues may impinge upon this –  for example, the lack of knowledge in which type of charter party to sign – this is the contract between owner and charterer – which terms to agree to, or which type of charter is required (voyage charter, time charter, bareboat charter) – and all of these can be costly.

We are here to liaise directly with owners or brokers, with dedicated staff who are members of the ICS (Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers). We endeavour provide you with the best possible charter agreed with your interests at the heart of all that we do.
